There are loads and loads of photos from old days -82 Club in New York, Les Girls from Sydney -even a playbill from Birds of a Feather in London in 1970.
The point is drag was the main outlet at the time, in the UK it was illegal for a man to go into the street dressed as a woman as late as the 1970s-how times have changed!
