Most people are familiar with Blacula and Scream, Blacula Scream but during a time in the 1970s there was a sub-genre of Blaxsploitation films that incorporated Horror. Another favorite of mine is Abby, The Black Exorcist. Dr Black, Mr Hyde is releasing a 35th Year Anniversary DVD. Lastly, anyone who has seen Blackenstein will never forget it. None of these are considered masterpieces of film making but all are guilty pleasures.

Speaking of What's Happening, did you ever see the movie Vice Squad? Re-Run played some no good Sugar Pimp named Dorsey. The hero of the story, Ramrod, cut his wiener off for being too nice to his stable of prostitutes.

Hey cool Season Hubley from Hardcore is in it.:cool::mrgreen:
I still want Angel 1,2 & 3.The 3rd installment was directed by Tom DiSimone who directed quite few horror and movies and also directed gay and bi porn under the name Lancer Brooks.
Speaking of horror films this did horror then went to do gay porn under the name Sam Ritter.
Also a guy that was in a film with Clint Eastwood it might have Escape From Alcatraz a blonde head stud did a gay porn film and because he was ashamed of it and didn't want anyone to see it he bought the rights to the movie.Porn legend Jamie Gillis (R.I.P.) was in this as well one of the few gay porn films he did.

How can I forget Hardcore? One of my favorites. Love how George C. Scott growls his lines. Remember when he tried to go undercover wearing a Hawaiian Shirt and Sunglasses with a horrible wig and mustache? He really hipped up his lingo to relate to the young people too.

What kind of pimp names himself Rataan?

blaxploitation easily is my fave genre of movies. That trailer rocks. Reminds me a little of JD's Revenge.

As a very young lad at the time seeing Season Hubley nude was such a big thrill for me.:cool::cheers::mrgreen:

For the record Hustler Magazine totally loathed this film giving it a totally limp rating. They hated how it took a cheap shoot at the porn industry.I found it funny that even they rated it though because they only rated X-Rated Films.I guess they felt the need to show there displeasure by giving it a totally limp rating.

She'd make a Hell of a C.I. if she didn't pass through the law enforcement testing process.

There couldn't be anything more scary then the Great Dolomite movies. That was Blaxsploitation's most frightening lowest moments. There's bad and there's real BAAAAAD!

Dude.

Dolomite was the man. Even had to go see him in concert back in the 90's.

Classic doesn't even begin to describe it.

I like documentaries about film. Here's a good one. You learn a staggering amount on the Blaxsploitation genre in just 58 minutes. They play it on IFC every once in awhile.

I have it and have seen it maybe 50 times. My fave genre. I had a collection of movies but lost it and have to start over again...

Many of these movies were campy and low budget, but they were a lot of fun to watch. Me and my buds that I used to hang with would go downtown and catch the back to back doubles. Things were cool back then up until the Karate & Kung Fu type movies started to edge these films out towards the mid 70's. Things started to get crazy after that in the inner city theaters and lot of these guys would get so wild watching the kick flicks they were kicking the shit (even knifing) out of people just sitting there minding their own business. Anyone around here remember that?
