After posting my thoughts about the future of TS pornography in another thread, I wanted to get everyone's thoughts as to where the business is going. Here's my original post again in case you missed it: "You know, I've been wondering the same thing lately. Not a lot of new content, particularly from Brazil, like there used to be. It seems like only the Shemale Samba Mania and Tranny Surprise series have all new content, but they only come out about once a month. I read somewhere that TS porn is around 35% of the industry, so you think there would be plenty of new content. I don't know for sure, but I think, at least in Brazil, that a lot of the new content is strictly on specific websites. I think that once the genre starts to move onto blu-ray en masse then there should be new content coming out in larger streams. Evil Angel is cool, but the DVD price is slightly ridiculous, plus too much mixing of genres for my taste, such as GG/TS, GG/man/TS. I prefer just TS/Man, with the TS as bottom. I can't deny the quality of Evil Angel though. Sometimes, down and dirty though, like Sunshine Films is more stimulating! Anyway, it seems to me like the genre is in a flux, and it's difficult to tell what's going to come out on the other side. Personally, I feel that the genre is geared to be on par with the "straight films" within the next decade. It has all the qualities to explode: an increase in stand-out stars, an exotic,almost-but-not-quite-taboo quality, a sort-of hyper femininity that appeals to men, but enough masculinity to appeal to women, the walls falling down in terms of what's "acceptable" in "mainstream" society(finally!), as well as the huge steps forward that have taken place in terms of video quality(mainly spearheaded by Silvera, as well as Grooby). The impact on the industry by this genre has yet to reach its crowning moment.

The genre isn't in flux. All styles are porn are marketable simultaneously and choice is best for the consumer, right? It's just that some styles will be more popular than others as trends cycle over time. I think the future involves the already-occurring progression in production values as well as new compensation structures and more model independence because happy models make happy fans. :)

To me, the content recycling is a really big problem, because it sort of sends a message that the genre is stagnant.:(

If you listen to my radio interview w/ Liberty we talk about this..

The other problem is the creativity..almost all of tranny porn is shot and done the same way..

And I know a lot of guys have complained about that on here and to me personally...

They want to see more than just cock and ass shots over and over and over again....

Agreed. It seems like there needs to be a TS version of the Pirates films or the new Top Gun-type movie to really blow the doors off of the genre.

Those in control see the most profit when that's the case. I don't think it's a creative issue, I think it's a financial one. Also, I think there's a fear of oversaturation, hence why so many established models are against sharing the spotlight with a new breed of independents.

I agree on bigger productions/acting/parodies would rejuvenate the scene..

I like that Foxxy came out with a parody

Me too, but scripts require writers and writers like to get paid. Also, there has to be a minimal level of talent on the part of the actors. I mean it doesn't have to be Shakespeare, but still. It's tricky to pull off.

Yeah, I saw that was coming out. It looks good. I think, regardless of if it actually is true or not, just having the appearance of a quality production gives off an image of success. Plus, more storylines allows for a greater audience.

That's also an important factor. More involvement in mainstream productions by the models will give more of a spotlight on the industry. Much like how many GG pornstars have already done, such as Katie Morgan in Zach and Miri Make a Porno.
