I know exactly how AVN do their voting and I do believe a lot of it has to do with advertising dollar. However, the Transsexual Performer of the Year, I've recently been told, isn't to do with "transsexual performances of that year" which explains a lot when you look at the past winners but based on the media exposure and general reach that those models have had. It would be nice if AVN (who told me this) promoted that so at least people wouldn't have had complaints.

For Xbiz this year, I had a vote on Transsexual Performer of the Year and I did not vote for Mia. That doesn't make her win any less valid as apparantely plenty of people did AND she does have an excellent media presence, so if you mean she bought her award by ensuring that her work, her image and her brand was high profile then yes, she did spend money on getting her award. Again, it doesn't make it any less valid.

Her toy line is awesome and I can see why that would be chosen.

I think Hollywood needs to unveil who you are (didn't the mods used to do that if someone made shady comments under a false name?) or you could shot some class, and do it yourself?

Under "Best Transexual Performer" I'm not sure if Bailey should have won either based on how I thought that award was chosen - which would have been on their performance in adult (hardcore) scenes. Given what I since learned about AVN then I can completely understand and agree with their choice, nobody else has had her presence and reach in the last few years and this further supports the majority of the other decisions for the same award which may have seemed dubious.
As far as Mia ... I don't know anything about what your talking about - and it concerns me none. She's been a great (yet sporadic) model for us and we enjoy promoting her site and product.

If "your girls" post here then you are obviously someone in the know - and if you want your posts to have any real weight, should provide your real name so people can see it's not some other agenda.

You may be able to 'cockblock' me and others out of this industry, but eventually, we're going to make you pay for it and we've already begun to weaken your brand.

Now stop sidestepping and admit you're wrong once in a while, will you? So many more (and higher quality) people in this industry would like to work with you due to your size, but find that they can't because of your business practices and your reputation. Do yourself a favor and try to become a normal, relatable human being at some point soon.

I probably didn't read any of your posts on it Wendy or discounted how/what you would know, not being a member of the judging panel. Hearing it directly from AVN that;

" One thing many people don't understand is that several of our Performer of the Year awards -- are not based solely on the nominee's proficiency at performing, but also take into account their profile in the media, both adult and mainstream."

I think I was on of the few people both on the night and afterwards who maintained that that your win was legitimate as you were an excellent performer during that year, despite what other people thought. Given other years (esp. previous years choices) there were winners who weren't such great performers during that year. A lot of the people who are incensed each year think the award is based on looks. I think if AVN (and XBiz) clarified it's criteria then they could avoid all of this.
It's clearer to me now, that it's based as I was told, more on their "profile in the media" during that year and performance is very much secondary.

I think this whole thing about Mia buying the award is laughable but at the same time calling her smart is deplorable. I was Mia's business manager (?*%$^@) back in 2006 and developed the business plan including website, cam shows, advertising/promotion, and product endorsements, that Mia is now using. Unfortunately Mia and I had a difficult parting of the ways. Basically Mia wanted to go it alone after picking my sales and marketing brain for over a year. I guess I share a bit of her glory inside but I can never forgive her for what she did and how she involved my family and employer as a way to cut me off. She has been lucky but karma's a bitch.
