Joanna Jet is the 2010 Tranny Awards Lifetime Achievement Award.

This award is so deserving to so many people who have helped made our industry what it is today. Previous winners Meghan Chevalier and Olivia Love, were pioneers in the early 90's TS video revolution with more scenes between them than practically all the scenes put together by today's stars. Joanna Jet was on the next wave.

The first time I saw anything from Joanna were some amateur photos she sent in of herself for publication on Shemale Yum. This was in about 1996-7, and she was still a crossdresser and before Shemale Yum even shot it's own content (submissions only). She then went on to win our first banner design competition, and that banner can still be seen in some places.

Over the following years as Joanna transitioned she done a number of shoots for Shemale Yum including most memorably for me, an early Allanah Starr shoot as well as with a post-op model and another hot New York transsexual model - all these scenes were shot by Tony Vee in NYC. If anyone was ever meant to be a transsexual pornstar, Joanna Jet was.

Joanna relocated for a time to Los Angeles and ran her video/DVD production company, Jetset productions, releasing some of the highest quality and hardest content of it's time and I thoroughly recommend you trying to see it. She worked for many producers including Joey Silvera and some of her most intense scenes were with the other blonde bombshell, Vicki Richter. Joanna has always been control as producer, director, model and designer of her content and in the late 00's took a sabbatical from performing to concentrate on the production of her non-TS content in the UK.

Joanna Jet is a highly intelligent individual whom before her transition into porn, was a successful business person and she's taken that into her adult career in the marketing of her image. She excels at porn because she's simply, really, really into it. She's a perfectionist who stands behind herself and her product.

She's never really been given the credit for being one of the first TS producers (if not the first) who genuinely did the direction and production. She's also never been properly credited with being instrumental in getting AVN to recognise transsexuals for the Best Transsexual Performer Award, something she has yet to win herself.

Joanna made a modeling comeback for http://www.shemale-pornstar.com in 2010 and it was very highly received and welcome. She also, along with Liberty Harkness became part of the Grooby production crew. I love hanging out with her as she we've similar tastes in a lot of things, other than the adult industry.

TS models working today, owe Joanna a debt of thanks for being so outspoken to the media about transsexual porn and for being so tenacious with getting our scene recognised.

FYI: Her company was Altered State Productions and Gia Darling would be the first followed by Joanna then myself. Only 3 Independant Ts Productions Companies thus far (sad if you think about that).


Anyhow let me say if it wasnt for Joanna Jet I would not know and or have the business I have today or career. In 2003 it was Joanna Jet who put me in my first DVD (JetSet 3) then in 2004 Joanna moved me from Florida too California to run her business while she was in the U.K. Joanna put my company Hot Wendy Productions under Altered State while she taught me the ropes of Producing (pre and post production). During this time I was able to make the contacts that eventually lead to me branching on my own with distribution etc..........Joanna is one of the smartest and business savy people I have EVER met. I owe her so much and she will never know how thankful I am to have met her. I dont think people could understand how amazing of a Producer she really is and just how intelligent she is from writing the code for her website, from shooting, editing, and dvd production, SHE DOES IT ALL..........

Congratulations Joanna.
Well deserved.

My first ever ts lesbian shoot, and gave me my first ride from Heathrow to my hotel the first time ever I was in London. I have many fond memories from the years I have known her.

I have always said all the Transsexual AVN Award Performer winners owe a great debt to Joanna, without her there may not be an award for it.

This is one well deserved award. I remember the days when she graced our presence at Allanah's infamous monthly party at the Shelter. I'm happy to see that your immigration problems have been solved and I hope to see you soon in NYC.

Being the rookie chick in the industry I went to Vegas to hang out with Liberty Harkness who had come with Joanna for the AVN awards this year. We all went out for dinner and had a great time just hanging out while in Vegas. I had known Joanna had been doing porn for a little while but it wasn't until Steven told me her back story and all that she had accomplished for the world of TS porn that I realized just how much of an impact she had made for us all. So for this little newbie it was an honor to be hanging out with a legend, if only for a few hours. Congrats on the award Joanna!!!!!! You, of all people definitely deserve it:Bowdown:

You are right though, it would be nice to see a few more.

While we are independent and produce, edit, star in our own content, we are solely web based at this point. None of our personal content has been released or distributed on DVD, at least not with our consent. We do all of our own site design, customer service, promo content, blogs and only rely on outside companies for billing and hosting and of course affiliates for promotion.

Hello Everyone,

There is only one way that I can start this post and that is by saying a very big thank you for each and everyone of your kind words, it means a great deal.

In over a decade in this industry, I have had everyone from individuals, corporations and even governments try to put me out of business and if I have learnt one thing from this, it's that if you truly love what you do and never cease in striving to improve at delivering you best, there will always be a place for you ;-)

What makes this lifetime achievement extra special is that it comes from the only person that has shared my career journey from the very beginning: Senchai.

There have been great times, there have been very bad times but right now the future looks rosy and as this year will show, my career is far from over ;-)

She's a remarkable and intelligent woman, who knew who I was from the forums when I met her years ago at one of Allanah's parties in NYC, and who has been extremely helpful to Angelina Torres and I as we've been working hard to build Angelina's website and online brand, including giving me the guidance I needed to convert PAL to NTSC video standard since I had never worked with the European format before.
