We dreamed of a world free of rewinding videocassettes and what did we get? Digital Rights Management!!

My fucking Tivo is full! No more memory! Back in the old days I could just buy another god damn VHS tape! 2 dollars!

You don't really have to go back that far. You only have to go back to the early 90's. Few cell phones, people had beepers instead, so they could still be reached but ignore your calls, and internet access was, say, 14.4kbps. You don't have to shut it down, just slow it down. :lol:

Actually, I agree!!! The internet is way more fuckin' trouble than it's worth, IMHO. In the not too distant future, I will be casting it aside. My first computer was a Commodore 64, and while I could do without half the conveniences a cell phone or computer provide today, I don't think there's anything wrong with the way technology has progressed.

The world is so different with the internet and technology as a whole, some ways better and many ways worse. People don’t meet in person anymore, they communicate on facebook or other social sites. People have online friends, I believe unless you know someone face to face than you are not friends. People don’t call instead they text. You don’t see kids out playing kickball or riding bikes like I did when I was a kid, now they are all inside on the computer or playing some kind of video game, that’s why child obesity is at an all time high. I like the internet for shopping; I shop like crazy and will admit I have a compulsion to buy, and when I can’t find anything to buy then I start buying future birthday or xmas presents lol. Also Eros, I love Eros it makes escorting easy, if I had to walk some kind of stroll out in the cold or rain I would be doing some other line of work.
