I think this article helps to raise some valid questions about our national priorities. The comments also had some interesting debates. For some reason this image stuck in my mind from the comments: Someone spoke of a Pashtun driver getting paid to deliver fuel passed through Pakistan to Afghanistan. Who knows what he does with his money? He could contribute money directly to Al Queda. On the other hand I know family XYZ in my neighborhood is using thier food stamps to buy groceries at my neighborhood store. The employees there, are stopping to buy gas in my neighborhood, on the way home, are paying taxes, etc. Family XYZ has direct impact on my communty.
