Actually, that would be .ru - this one is .nu, which is a tiny South Pacific island called Niue. But because of the phonetic similarity to "new," it attracted a lot of sites that missed out on their chosen URL with a .com, .biz or other common extension.

The ".nu" extension is very popular in Denmark too, because "nu" means "now" in Danish. I'm sure you can see the use of that ;)
