Threads with attachments/pictures are loading very slow

This never used to be the case. Is there something up with the server?
When I click on a thread that has attachements/pictures, the page takes a very long time to load, screen stays white for awhile before anything shows up.
This has been happening for the last week or so.
Anyone else notice this?
