South park, South Acres, 5th ward, Greenspoint(aka gunspoint), Acres Homes, Sharpstown, and South Main(where I am from) are the worst areas in Htown.

Some parts of third ward are bad(like cullen and scott), but that's also where the University of Houston's entire campus is, as is Texas Southern University. There is a revival going on in third ward as we speak. I don't know if you know, but third ward was a rich neighborhood, and the yuppies have been taking it back. Here is what it looks like now.....

Use the google man to get a street view. That Delano and Truxillo. Notice the nice brick houses there. 3rd ward isn't that bad at all.


By the way, my attitude on the forums is called, "I went to college". That doesn't mean I didn't grow up in the hood.

It was never that bad. 5th ward has always held the title. 4th ward used to be bad too, but they cleaned that up and called it midtown.


They don't plop the city's star university right down in the worst neighborhood. That should have been your first clue.

You wanna know how you tell how bad the neighborhood is? Google all the grocery stores you can think of, and if none of them come up in the area, it's a bad neighborhood. The Nickel has not a single chain grocery store other than Fiesta mart off Lyons in the whole neighborhood.....lol

Plus right across the street is a club where fights go on daily.
