This is so dumb to me. Where the hell are transsexuals supposed to use the bathroom. Unless every state in the union is ready to allocate funds towards the building or designation of unisex bathrooms....there isn't much of a choice.

Imagine a transsexual walking into a mens bathroom....no good can come from that.

For me this is a moot point (to a degree) because I don't believe in using public facilities...I think their disgusting. I'd rather go home and be surrounded by my own germs.

That's just a little bit crazy. Do you always hold it when you are out, or can you ignore your germ fears if your bladder needs release? What kind of diseases are you afraid of catching in a public restroom?

Yea post his email. Ill respond too! I have never had an issue with the restroom in all my years of transitioning... I even went to bathroom when I did drag before every transitioning... in Houston... this is a load of crap!

It probably has to do with how passable a girl is.. If she's easily clockable then chances are a lot of women probably aren't going to be comfortable with her using the womens bathroom...

I'm a germ-a-phobe in general. I am afraid of being touched by animals because of germs but I eat them on a regular basis. I'm a conundrum.

HOUSTON - Tyjanae Moore is the transgendered woman who was cited and thrown behind bars by a Houston police officer because she was caught using the ladies restroom. "I felt so belittled going to a jail over something so simple and stupid," says Moore.
A 26-year-old native of Minnesota, Moore moved to Houston to be closer to family, but after a year in Texas, she is ready to move back.
Moore was arrested Nov. 17 at the Houston Public Library in downtown. The offense? Police say despite being a transgendered female, she is still officially a man -- a man who was caught using the ladies' restroom.
"When I came out, the female told me I wasn't supposed to be and I asked if there was any particular reason why not. She said I'm a transgendered female and I was really shocked that they even stopped me for this," says Moore.
Even though she is seen as a protected class by the City of Houston, Moore entered a guilty plea.
Earlier in 2010, Mayor Annise Parker, who is openly gay, issued an executive order that allows transgendered persons to use the city restroom of their choice.
Moore tells FOX 26 News she tried to use the men's restroom in the past.
"I went to the males' restroom and the man followed me into the restroom, so I figured that was not good. It wasn't safe and I started going to female restrooms and that's where I'm comfortable with," says Moore.
But there are some people who believe until Moore undergoes a full sexual transition, she should remain in the men's restroom. That is why the Houston Area Pastor Council is asking the Texas Attorney General's Office to take up this case. Members of the group say Mayor Parker's executive order allowing transgendered people to use the restroom of choice contradicts state law.

Texas law prohibits the opposite sex from using a restroom unless given permission.
"We're not surprised because this is exactly what we predicted was going to happen as a result of Mayor Parker's executive order when you change the course of history, man and woman," says Dave Welch, spokesman for the HAPC.
Advocates for transgendered people say there is no conflict between the mayor's order and state law. They suggest that permission required by the state has been given to individuals like Moore through the executive order.

Are you kidding me? I think I have to really start doing more advocating! Regardless if the girl passes or not there should be no fucking problem her using the girls bathroom. I think we need to start fucking around with this people. Maybe I should start using the boys bathroom again and when they arrest me for using the wrong sex bathroom take out my dick and tell them I am suing them for breaking my rights!!!! and see what they say then! And you're right, Lisa.

But my concern is that I'm not quite sure if there is a 100% right or wrong on this thing.

I think what's really wrong is arresting the girl especially in light of civil society telling her she is okay. It's an action of humiliation to make a person identify themselves (sexually) and ask *permission* to use a certain sexes restroom.

It's would cost a lot to build 3rd sex restrooms (a suburb in of Rio in Brazil thought about doing it), but it would be better than a unisex bathroom in my opinion.

If a 3rd sex bathroom is not possible I say the next wises decision is letting the male-to-girl transsexuals use the female restrooms.

Too much potential for them being beaten or raped going to the males bathroom.
