and along the same vein...people want children NOW...even if they realistically can't raise them properly...they WANT them...then they have them and don't know what to do with them, just like their pets...all part of instant gratification...treating children and animals like accoutrements...and the kids grow up and continue the cycle.

I was same way. I was raised by only a father that worked 2 to 3 jobs and two brothers. I was never spoiled and if we acted up we got our asses beat. Too many kids are so fucking spoiled. I see it now with my younger sisters since my dad is older remarried with two young ones, he just gives them anything they want. So they act up, run their mouths and never get punished. And he wonders why his older kids turned out great and the two at home are crazy! LOL! Ive been fired from a job and it was a huge learning experience for me. I think kids should get a great spanking when they act up.... but its not allowed in our society anymore. Kids have no manners at all!

I think it's very difficult for parents these days as there are few positive role models for kids outside of the home.
