I think the issue here is that the social pressure for men to be 100% hetero, sucks, and that, in an ideal world there wouldn't be any ridicule about being into trannies. I know for me, as I've gotten further along in my transition, things have normalized and aren't as scary or taboo as they once were. In a lot of ways, I've forgotten that I'm somehow "different" than any genetic girl. So, I seek to be treated with the same respect as anyone else.
