There are blogs all over the web dealing with tablet computers and what's coming to challenge the iPad. Blackberry's offering looks sweet as hell, but it is not a standalone device- it needs to tether off your Blackberry. (I'm sure that will get hacked fast enough to allow tethering off damned near any device)

Android tablets are coming in droves, and HP is supposedly planning tablets using the WebOS they got when they swallowed Palm. I've thus far only heard rumors of Windows Phone 7 being used in future tablets, but it would only make sense.

Tablets will probably be plentiful & numerous for a year or 2, maybe 3, before the herd is thinned and a small handful remain on top. Problem is, for those who don't want the iPad, most of these tablets are not actually on store shelves yet. And judging from all of the buzz I hear (I listen to CNET's "Buzz Out Loud" podcast daily, among other sources), you don't wanna buy a tablet right this minute, because hordes of much mo betta devices are just around the corner- somewhere between Black Friday & next Summer.

Not for nothing, I have alot of respect for android operating systems but Samsung is a 50/50 as far as a purchase. The Vibrant still has not been updated to 2.2 FroYo. Even though the new tablet is speculated to come with 2.2 what happens to the tablet when Gingerbread drops next year, I'm sure it won't be updated quickly.....
