According to Corrections Corporation of America reports reviewed by NPR, executives believe immigrant detention is their next big market. Last year, they wrote that they expect to bring in "a significant portion of our revenues" from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the agency that detains illegal immigrants.

Yeah that was big, but it's not just law enforcement & prisons. Official persecution keeps the Mexicans hunkered down & quiet, making it a lot easier to exploit them. Who are they going to complain to? That kind of competition keeps wages suppressed accross the board & creates a scapegoat to blame it on. Most of the law is bullshit & adds nothing to the powers that already exist. It's just a way of padding budgets & ripping off the taxpayers. This really is "class warfare", & everybody who works on the clock is under attack. It's not new.
