S.O.R is the "best place to go"

But it is full of tricks, drag queens and crossdressers.

Pink Party is better but be prepared to get kicked out earlier than you would expect due to "tranny drama"!

When I'm down, my night usually goes like this:

SRO on Fifth Ave (which I think is the spot tsparisangelline was referring to in her response). If you're chasing though you might be disappointed by this spot. I rarely see bona fide transsexuals here (mostly older cross dressers), but when they do show up, they're choice. I go here mostly for the ambiance and the crowd/service. It's very "down home", welcoming and fun. My favorite bartender is Trevor. One of my favorite patrons is Joe, and there's another older guy whose name escapes me.

Then I go to Urban Mo's on University. One of my most favorite trans-girls works there as a server/hostess/bartender, her name is Jamie Nova, and she's one of my most favorite people in the whole, wide world. Still, not many trannies though.

After I've eaten, and I'm plenty drunk, I go to Bacchus House, which is further east on University, and which has a sufficient population of latin transsexuals present. There are some very pretty girls here, but make sure that you know un poquito espanol, otherwise you might be at a loss.

After Bacchus I usually stop by Rich's (which is also on University, and which is about midway back west toward Urban Mo's). You'll find a couple more girls here, and in this area in general, being that there are a few clubs (another is Universal), and the music & scene is very fun.

Finally, if it's still earlier than two a.m., and you haven't missed "last call", you might consider making one last stop at SRO, for a little more conversation and maybe to get lucky with a working girl who hasn't found anyone...

This is normally a Wednesday night. Personally, and as a word of advice, I wouldn't attend that party in the H&R Block Building. I attended one of those parties, and it might have been a fluke, but IMO it was whack. I paid twenty bucks to chill in an empty office with about eight other men and three girls. I was lucky enough to be one of the younger, more attractive guys. But otherwise, I'd save my time & money by not even going to that shit.
