Moving to Australia!!

I'm moving to Sydney, Australia in a year. I'm just wondering if anyone can help me with getting to know the ins and outs of living there. My main concern is the expense of living. I know its quite the difference from here in Newfoundland! Thanks in advance!

Be careful of where you live in sydney because the further west you go the rougher it gets.inner city or eastern or northern suburbs are safer,especially for a tgirl.

I'm going down with a little over 10k, so im just wondering about renting an apartment and whatnot. I heard that rent is paid there every week, apposed to every month here.
