He is actually a member of this message board and a close personal friend of mine. I don't know if any of you on here ever talked with him or anything, but he was a member of the US Army. Sadly he was killed last week in Afghanistan when a roadside IED went off close by. It has been very hard these past couple of days for everyone involved. So please say a pray for his family that they can get through this very difficult time.

Sorry for the loss of your friend. It's sad to lose another person that could understand us. I think the best we could do, is to use this, to better appreciate one another here. So before we start calling people names, maybe we could think of Pfc Myers, laying his life on the line. Maybe there is good and sacrifice, in others here, that we don't know about. Let us better learn to appreciate life. Many, like Pfc Myers, gave up theirs, for us to be here, and to be freer to be our true selves. I know that when things like this happen, it is just very hard to believe it can be true. I still find myself thinking that I will receive a phone call from him or just wake up and have it just all be a bad dream.

Wow he was really hot! But this is very sad and I am very sorry for your loss. This is also why I hate that my brother joined the Army. I don't know how I would handle it if something happened to him. My prayers are with his family.

I spoke to him a little bit over IM. The last time I spoke to him was on his birthday not long ago. I feel bad for his family and loved ones. It's tragic that he died so young and incredibly sad that his family lost him so young.
