AHHHHH!!! Titus Pullo is still the man! Head removals, limb removals, then his buddy jumps in and saves him! Flawless victory!

I think I just pee'd a little....

THIRTEEEENTH!!!!!!!!!!

Good episode, I was just gonna comment on it, but I couldn't find that old thread. Shit's really gonna hit the fan next week.

I know, I looked for it too...I think it said Rome (with a whole lot of periods after it) Didn't turn up in the search.

When he was screaming 13th I was like Yeah! My nigga! He bodied a good eight men before he went down.

This show is just slept on too, too much.

Yeah some good shit... the shield to the neck was a great move.

Some great actors on that show, I am expecting major Emmys next year. I didn't recall seeing any of these actors anywhere before, other than Ciarán Hinds (Caesar) as President Nemerov in Sum of All Fears. But then I looked at some of their credits and saw all sorts of appearances where I should recognize them from. Ray Stevenson (Pullo) was in King Arthur, where he plays a similar type of guy. And Polly Walker (Atia) was, among other things, in Patriot Games which happens to be running on one of the premium channels these days. Interestingly enough her two characters are both very conniving. And I just watched Kingdom of Heaven where Kevin McKidd (Vorenus) has a small part. He prominently displays his permanently constipated look. I could not leave out Indira Varma (Niobe), the half Swiss half Indian actress who starred in Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love, lol. And so on...

Btw, the other thread is now showing up in similar topics on the bottom.

TomSelis
11-14-2005, 09:00 AM
Ohhhh...Niobe could get it.

I figured the actors from Rome were in other things in bit parts. Since they're all British actors, they wouldn't really play big parts in American movies. Alot of them are classically trained at the Royal Shakespeare Company, so you know they have skills.

LOL@Vorenus' constipated look. "Speak plainly citizen." *Constipated face*

another incredible episode....that battle in the arena gave me goose bumps it was so intense!!

Kerry Condon, (Octavia) had a big part in "Unleashed" with Jet Li and Max Pirkis (Octavian) had a decent part in "Master and Commander" Pullo also had a small part in "King Arthur".

Last night's show was AWESOME, it's gonna be tough waiting until 2007 for the next season. HBO says they start filming in March. I hate the way they do that...It has been 2 years for the "Sopranos".

I will admit, I wasn't expecting them to go completely through Caesar's reign in one season, though.

The arena scene totally made this episode. Vorenus did the right thing. Loyalty first, no matter what the cost. I like it.

I just turned on The Virgin Queen on PBS and who did I see but Vorenus, still in need of a good laxative. Looks like a really good show, check it out.

Fuckin A! I heard that they've commited to another season, also. And it won't be terribly long before Tony Soprano reappears. I also think it would be very cool if they re-ran the old Dream On series.

She was incredible. Especially the scene where she licks and nibbles on the things of her childhood friend (when they are older, perverts, LOL) What a bush they all had.

I was quite into it last season, however this year I haven't stayed
current with it.

At some point I will get caught up via HBOs On-Demand. 8)

It's gonna be hard to top the first two episodes this season, IMO.

The 'Son of Hades' episode last week kicked ass.

And it was so nice to see the delightfully slutty Cleopatra again...

I am a Son of Hades!

Damn! Caesar dies?!?

OK, that's an extreme suspension of disbelief on my part (Hey, I'm the guy that sat in the theatre during Titanic screaming at the sceen "Full on! Not full reverse! It makes the rudder ineffective!").

Seriously, just started watching Season 1 on DVD and it's great. I'll be back to trade notes when I catch up. :)

We haven't discussed this in a couple of weeks. It's taking some crazy turns. Vorenus got his kids back and.....they hate him? That symbol his daughter made at the end of last week's episode bugged me out.

That chick....Gaia.....cot dayum!!!

RawNY
03-12-2007, 10:26 PM

How about the whore in the chain mail outfit earlier in the show. I am sure they had transexuals then, wonder what it would have been like?

TomSelis
03-12-2007, 11:25 PM
It's a shame there's only two episodes left...ever. They rushed through a lot of shit this season. But last night's episode more than made up for it.

Cleopatra was looking good...no panties, see through dress. *slurps* and that weird walk is hot.

Pullo continues to rock. You knew he was going to kick some major ass when he showed up in gladiator armor. My favorite was the guy getting the waraxe to the head and it staying there as he fell. Rome gets fucking mean and nasTAY.

And only a couple of episodes left....it's gonna be pretty damn hard for HBO to surpass Rome or Deadwood...I'd trade the last season of the Soprano's for another season of either one at this point!

It's ironic the BBC have yet to announce when Rome season 2 will be shown here in the UK, thank god for the internet. Found some interesting stuff on Rome ... take a look at the list of directors, Michael Apted, Carl Franklin, Tim Van Patten (who's done episodes of The Sopranos, Deadwood, The Wire.) Also interesting to see how various countries handle the sex scenes and strong language. The BBC deem the word "cunt" unacceptable for prime time viewing, why they want to schedule Rome for prime time is beyond me, ... they should allow as many "cunt" expressions as the directors intended, after all, it was the british who invented the word.

I just watched the last episode again...and I gotta say that it was great to see Vorenus and Pullus fighting side-by-side again...it sucks that the series is over, but nevertheless, I think that it was a damn fine last episode...

Octavian on Vorenus: "That man turns loyalty into a vice."
