Yeah, except that I don't care if I'm out and if someone finds me here then they came looking for transsexuals. I don't go around announcing to the world that I have a penis but I don't care if people know either. You can ask my divorce judge about that one since I went through that process as openly trans and with positive results. Plus I don't believe in absolutes, so when I see Jerry Springer try to go out of his way to make sure he uses proper pronouns for a girl and show some sensitivity for the feelings of a transsexual woman in a common scenario who just wants to be loved (even if it's fake), I can't help but think that maybe he's on our side and understands the incremental nature of acceptance. We talked about this in the 'Why is it' thread.

And of course Maury's shows might as well be called 'spot the dude in a dress,' so strangely enough I think Springer's contrived transsexual stories that mimic real world situations are immensely more helpful to the community than having a studio audience mock beautiful women by claiming, 'IT'S A MAAAAAAN, MAURY!' I could care less if someone called me that in person because I know they're just intentionally trying to be hurtful, but being ridiculed and showing such little self-respect on national TV is just not a good look for transpeople at large.
