usually the human resources or financial aid department can give u solid leads for local grants to your area....i also went to a tech school for architechual engineering and had friends with the same issue since we didnt have on campus housing.

shouldnt matter if its transexual student or not.....there are grants and loans there for all students, just apply for them.

Dude, that guy is my hero!!! Hes like a modern day Riddler!!!

I really doubt the financial aid department is going to be prepared to answer jens question.... Perhaps one of the other girls here knows??? I think a good place to start would be contacting the national GBLT alliance or whatever its called.

I don't know if there are any specific places that have scholarships just for tgirls, but there should be...

But if you haven't already, there places like sallie mae and and hattie m strong foundation that offer scholarships from time and perhaps financial aid. There websites are:

scholarships.salliemae.com

www.hmstrongfoundation.org

They helped me out a lot during my many years of school. Hope those websites help and hope you find the money you need because you are one of the few here, and I believe I speak on behalf of many men here, there are highly respected for your commitment to having an education as a tgirl and not resorting to escorting and pornography.

And I sincerely hope it stays that way. Keep up the good work.

...god...i think theres like 7-8 smart people on this entire board

That's what we get for leaving the door open at night. Damned intellectuals wandering in, mucking up the space. Sheesh! :)

tsntx, Just curious, what kinda technical stuff are you technically studying? Maybe there are future (Or current) employers that might be able to help.

Somehow I worked full time and went to school full time and lived on my own. You can get somewhere around $11,000 a year in student loans as an undergraduate. $11,000 is like having a job making $16,000 after taxes. And I walked uphill both ways... ok so not that last part. But why are you not able to fund your own college with student loans and with your job that you comment on regularly?

I realize college is expensive, but in-state tuition even at UCLA isn't that much.

I thought on the show your parents funded your surgery or at least loaned you that money. Were they cosigners or primary signers? Are you saying that the hospital loaned you $30,000 for surgery with no credit right out of high school? That doesn't sound realistic at all. If someone did that all of the TS escorts would be all over that getting worked on then filing bankruptcy.

By the way, in searching the web, I don't think you are going to find a transsexual scholarship, but you very well might fall into a gay and lesbian scholarship fund.

You never know.

Like someone says, you might try for any scholarship if your grades are good enough to support it. Like most social groupings, you still have to be worth taking the risk on.

i didnt mean being discriminated against, i just meant apply to them all, then reapply saying you didnt have enough to cover living costs....here its called a crisis loan (through benifits mostly, but there are certain ones for students), they do exist if you qualify.

the job i call on is a freelance makeup artist and hairstylist for a local burlesque troope and also work w/ weddings, proms, photographers... basically i work for myself there fore i cant ask my employer for help... also none of the work is regular, it has high peaks and low lows considering the nature of this post im sure yall can figure out where im at... since i dont tech have my liscences to do hair and makeup yet i cant report my earnings to the govt b/c its like illegal or whatever to work in the industry w/o a liscence so i cant ask the govt to help out a struggling biz owner.. im going to a top of the line cosmo school so i can get said liscences... my parents were primary co-signers so what lil money i make i pay the minimum of my debt each month not to mention my insurance, my car, my cell phone, what lil food my fat ass can consume and health essentials *toothpaste, deodorant, toliet paper etc.* ... ANYWAY the point is .... the govt and private institutions loan or grant individuals money for people trying to further their education and im just trying to use some of it to my advantage too as i AM in school and AM trying to better myself so that one day i can AND will be a contributing part of this country...

Well according to some of the more educated folks on here I am probably not intelligent, however with two degrees under my belt and being a doctoral candidate I feel your pain totally. I have major loans to pay back. Any major financial institution..banks...will provide student loans..for some you need co-signers, but if you can simply provide proof of having a job for the last year or two, more than likely you will not need one. You just need to do the research and see what requirements they have. Of course if you're at a private institution (don't know) FAFSA will be of little help.

If all other resources are exhausted, which is what it sounds like from your statements, then I believe the best route for you would simply be private loans through any major bank

www.bankofamerica.com/studentbanking/
www.usbank.com/
etc etc etc...will provide info on getting these loans through them. If you have a savings or checking account somewhere I would suggest you go through your bank...thats what I did for extra expenses in Grad school.
Your Financial Aide office will surely have a comprehensive list of institutions along with their 800(888) numbers and website info that provide for students in your situation. Go to financial aide then check online by yourself. Just make sure you read the fine print..

Back to being an idiot and watching this new Nelly Video...Derrty Grillz...yea lil dirty
