Punishable by death? It's possible. There's a bill in Uganda punishing homosexuality by lifetime imprisonment or death. Are they following our influence? Check it out.

No one gives a shit.

How compassionate of you.

Trans people would be subject to this law as well. Do you think they deserve the death penalty?

Thanks Bella, too bad the video is no longer available. However in an HA discussion in on this in December, there was a link to an article about American involvement.

One issue in that American's who have influence with people there, are not speaking out against it publicly. The way I see it, some religious leadership is promoting belief in Jesus, but not nescessarily his message of love and inclusion.

BTW: The other video does not play for me either, but there is an article.

The video is still there, it's just not embeddable. Click on it and it'll bring you to the page. It's worth the 45 minute investment. There are some seriously fucked up growing pains going on in Africa right now. I seriously hope they follow our example insofar ss they learn what NOT to do to people who are different.

Thank you for making the video availible.

In terms of the the homophobic sentiments, I get the sense that the huge
influx of money from the Christian Right is influencing that.

Uganda doesn't have much of track record for respecting human life. People like Idi Amin were anti-everyone, except the British of course. lol
