Hi All,
I'm heading to San Francisco with my bf in a couple of weeks for a weekend. We were going to use Marriott points but they want too many points for the stay. Rather use the points for a tropical Marriott location. Any suggestions for a hotel not too far from Union Square? Plan on doing the tourist thing, shopping for me of course and then maybe Asia SF for dinner show and clubbing after. Thank you!!

They are nice and reasonably priced, and are LGBT friendly.

Whike you are here, don't forget to visit Divas.

She's going there with her bf so maybe they don't want to live their brief holiday in squalor like you might be accustomed to. And even still for a dude flying solo (who has class) it's still nice to have a posh home base in case you bring someone back or call someone in. A top notch ridiculously comfortable bed, fridge, and wide-open nice view for 290 to 600 a night is well worth it far more than 100 a night sleaze pit.

Actually I have just the place.
For the price, I can't recommend this place enough:

Really nice comfortable rooms with fantastic beds and a bit luxury. Lovely bathrooms, incredible location (basically a couple of blocks from Union Square).

I've stayed in over 10 different hotels in SF in the last 7 yrs and this is the only one I'd consider going right back to. Price is usually cheaper than worse hotels in the same area. I was there in Feb.

Thanks Seanchai. That hotel looked perfect. Unfortunately they do not have any rooms available.

Thank you Sly. I'll check them out. I have heard of the Sir Francis Drake hotel. We are finding many hotels are booked up already. Thanks!

Anyone ever stayed at Hotel Diva near Union Square?

I don't go anywhere without getting a car, so when i am in SF i stay at a hotel close to the airport, usually one of the Marriotts just north of SFO. Two taxi trips a day will make a car rental worthwhile, and with these nice hotels next to SFO, goiing back home is very easy.

And for those who say you can't find a place to park in SF - wrong. Sometimes its difficult, but but its not even in the same league as NYC.

and it's only 10-15 mins to get to divas
