I don't think anyone is comparing Muse to those two. But, the band obviously takes influences from both of them.

They're a great band. Personally, I like "Absolution" the most.

Yeah I love Muse, have followed them from the Start with their awesome album Showbiz up until now! Knights of Cydonia makes me wanna go riding on my horse in to the sunset................

Both bands are good live (though I haven't seen Motorhead live since about 20 years ago)..but two completely different sounds. Muse gets a lot of sound out of their three piece band...love a lot of their stuff. I must say though that this particular song is a bit too, too New Agish for me...almost like their too over produced..and attaching the video to "that movie"...doesn't help either..lol.

Motorhead rips live still.

Definitely two different sounds, but any band who puts as much energy into their shows as Muse or Motorhead do usually put on a great show.

yeah the enegery is electric at a muse concert definately the best concerts i have been to live ... though saying that Iron maiden were insane as well ... Up the Irons !!!

I believe the word you're looking for is 'pretentious,' but as you mentioned, it is a song for a (crappy) movie. ;)
