let me preface my remarks by stating that i have not had a drink or used any drugs in almost 20 years. a couple of years ago i changed my primary care physician. on my first visit to the new doc he sent his PA in to do a health history. all the standard questions about health, dietary, and exercise habits. the PA was entering my answers in a PDA of some kind. after the question about whether i had unprotected sex with other men he asked,"do you use recreational drugs of any sort?" i answered, "i never used drugs recreationally, i was serious."

the PA practically dropped his stylus and gave me a very strange look. of course, my reply led to a barrage of questions about substances used, means of ingesting them, and last time used.

As for the other symptoms you described: It sounds more like congestive heart failure than a stroke. Seeing a doctor is your best bet. In the meantime, go down to your local grocery store or pharmacy & see if they have one of those do-it-yourself blood pressure testers. If it's high, you're going to have to make some decisions.
