What's so funny about that? They always ask that. It's their job.

It's been going forward for a long time before you came along. Why are you so self-righteous? What makes you so special to stake such claims?

But it happened two years ago, man. My buddies Jose and Cristian are from Chile and they are not angry over things that happened two years ago. Jose is cool but sometimes Cristian will tell stories like you just told and he hints at some kind of wrongdoing by police pulling him over, or some guy fucking around with him in traffic, and the fact is thatif those things happen to you, you are a true American. For me, I am white. When I go to Japan, those cops are just as stupid towards me. But I don't cry about it. When my female friend who is white goes to the Arab Emirates for her position, she must stay within her compound. If she leaves, the police bother ten times worse than American police "bother" you. It sounds like you are crying for no reason.

I came here when I was 6, and although I have a bit of an accent( mostly comes out when I'm stressed) I've yet to be green carded. Shouldn't your driver license be enough proof that you're here legally?
Nope. They can ask for whatever they like if they feel like it. They pull him over for a driving offence, and if he arouses suspicion on ANY level, they can continue their on-the-spot interrogation however they see fit. Get over it.

The fact is, they issued a ticket and left him after that. Two years later he is still whining about it. It's not the traffic patrol that has the problem, it is him. He sounds like your typical bubble boy who needs to get out more.

Maybe Jessica Alba should hold a grudge like this guy over some petty traffic violation and start a thread on some internet board two years from now because she's a fucking loser.

It seems to me that they are inacting these laws at the state level because the government has failed to ensure it's own borders.

Just because someone wants to come here and make a better living for themselves doesnt give them the right to do it illegally, and then ask for forgiveness later. I'd love to make a better life for my family and I'm working hard and doing it legally. If I robbed a bank, (an 'undocumented withdrawl' if you may, like the liberals call 'undocumented immigrants') can I ask for forgiveness later?

There are trying to pass a bill here in MA that increases the checks and balances on state level housing and welfare to ensure that it doesn't go it ILLEGAL aliens and people are fighting it!!!! Please tell me why my hard earned tax dollars should go to people who are here illegally, be it sneaking through a hole in a fence or overstaying their visa when I need it for MY FAMILY?

This is probably better suited for the political forum... but...

Let me see if i got this right...

If you cross the North Korean Border Illegally you get 12 years hard labor.

If you cross the Iranian border illegally you are detained indefinitely.

If you cross the Afghan border illegally, you get shot.

If you cross the Saudi Arabian border illegally you will be jailed.

If you cross the Chinese border illegally you may never be heard from again.

If you cross the Venezuelan border illegally you will be branded a spy and your fate will be sealed.

If you cross the Cuban border illegally you will be thrown into political prison to rot.

If you cross the U.S. Border illegally you get:

A Job
A Drivers License
Social Security Card
Welfare
Food Stamps
Credit Cards
Subsidized Rent of a Loan to Buy a House
Free Education
Free Health Care
A Lobbyist ini Washington
Billions of Dollars Worth of Public Documents Printed In Your Language
The Right To Carry Your Country's Flag While YOu Protest That You Don't Get Enough Respect
And, In Many Instances, You Can Vote

Just wanted to make sure I had a firm grasp on the situation.

(Go Arizona!!)

Exactly. That's one of the many things that makes us so much better than all those totalitarian places you just mentioned. From what I keep seeing, it seems there's a whole lot of folks who would have us be just like them. Ain't that special? Oh well. This is America, where everybody (& I do mean everybody) is entitled to hold their own opinions without retribution.

Oh by the way: My Arizona drivers licence makes no mention of my citizensip. It gives my name, address, date of birth, height, weight, hair & eye color, issue date, & expiration date. I amazingly passed the eye test, so I don't even have any restrictions. So... I'd like to know, since the DL is the only state ID, just what kind of paper or plastic is someone supposed to carry around to prove their citizenship when challenged? There's a rule that says adult resident aliens are supposed to carry ID, but there's no such rule for citizens, natural or naturalized. The only time you need to carry a DL is when you're operating a motor vehicle. The Arizona non-operator ID is the same card. It just says ID instead of DL. Both are completely voluntary. No US citizen is required to carry a birth certificate. You're not even required to have one really, & if you do, you're not required to know where mom put it unless you actually need it for a specific purpose. You're only required to have a passport for travel outside the US, & that's the only federal civilian ID. Also voluntary. You're supposed to show your Social Security card when filling out the forms for employment, but mine says "not for use as identification" right on it. I keep it at home in a drawer because it also says "do not laminate", & it's paper. I'm not required to carry it. The number's not on my DL either. Americans aren't required to carry ID at all.

So what's this new AZ law supposed to do, other than give carte blanche to police to harass brown people? I wonder how many supporters of this law think they can tell the difference between a Mexican & a Yaqui, or Hopi.

“I'd love to make a better life for my family and I'm working hard and doing it legally.”

Beautiful argument. I love the way you invoked your family in support of your own bigotry … and on a tranny porn site too. Well done. I bet they’re proud to be used that way. Oh well, you better stop reading this and get back to work. It’s a hard job keeping food on the table.

Best answer! Arizona has a lot of challenges in this new law. I think they should question those that commit crimes or violations. I don't think cops should go around asking random mexican people if they are legal or not. To me thats a recipe for numerous lawsuits. Although if you are legal then you have nothing to worry about.

Journalist and author Greg Palast has an interesting take on it:

There is an established process to become a citizen. Its not like they make it impossible for anyone. I feel that if you want to be here then you should go through the process of becoming a citizen. If you don't want to be a legal citizen then why are you here? I'm not speaking to the OP I'm just stating my opinion. Our government spends billions of dollars on two wars, bailouts, social programs and taking care of illegal immigrants. Whatever party you are affiliated it you have to admit this is getting to be ridiculous.

"Our government spends billions of dollars on two wars, bailouts, social programs and taking care of illegal immigrants."

Wrong. Our government spends trillions of dollars on two wars and economic stimulus. It spends billions on social programs and less on issues dealing with illegal immigration.

"...you have to admit this is getting to be ridiculous."

Yes, it's ridiculous.
