Quality preservation of uploaded images

First off this new board is amazing, HA you really outdid yourselves this time.

However I got a few issues. When you upload images there's this terrible quality reduction which does the photos a major injustice. This needs to be done away with, even for huge photos. A few extra hundred kilobytes can't be that much harsher on the server in the grand scheme of things.

Another thing is the 'printer friendly' display mode. It's great that we finally have this, BUT attached pictures should be visible.

Well that's all I have for now. Other than that this board is great. To whoever designed it, thanks for all the hard work!

I cannot post HQ pics anymore since you changed the sizing. This change started April 9th and the attachment manager will not let me post new pics. I cannot resize every photo, so, please explain. What am I to do?

P.S. When the new board started all of my pics were made into thumbnail size. Please go back to that method. If the large photos size is too costly, please reinstate the thumbnail size that you started out with in the new forum. Only in the past week, have you changed back to the old borad's full size images and as of April 9th, you are not allowing us to post pics in large size. Go back to thumbnails and I will continue posting away lovely photos.

I agree with you, but, I have been having problems transferring my collection from the old board starting April 9th. I cannot tranfer the pics full size. But, I am having no difficulty in posting large images when I do not use our old forum.

Maybe the old forum is 'dead' as far as transferring my pics in my long running thread Luscious Ladyboy and Shemale Leggy Lookers.

So, I take back what I said, large images are absolutely fine instead of the thumbnail sizes.

I was right originally, the forum is now not accepting images over 97.7 kb...for jpg.

This is new as of late April, 9th. A big change occurred here.
Please explain.......I am finding it very difficult to post images that yesterday was very easy........What am I to do?

Resizing it's usually the quickest option.
Or using a prog to save for web.

seriously teething problems are to be expected. Pinky was all bedded in and stable as, the new beast has new features and functionality and like any new thing is going to need tweaking to get it just right. I'm sure the guys are doing their best to do that with as little hassle as possible.

Hiya, I tried to post photos over 97.7 and I still cannot post larger images like before. The size still says 97.7. It has not changed or increased. Please check this one out, NYCe and make tha attachments manager reflect the new size immages.

Thank you for raising the bar to 195.3, but, sadly it still doesn't accommodate the huge pics that many of us have been posting here...Most of those are double the size you have chosen. Is there any way to make the attachments manager do over 350 or so?.. I have no idea about the difficulty or cost of doing this. All I know is what I posted on the old forum and how it was in the new forum till the number was dropped to 97.7.

I am a very loyal member and want to what is best for HungAngels. Please help those of us who are active and willing to contribute, like myself...

Considering, I lost 3,000 photo posts and my Silver status which I earned, in the old forum that were not transferred here, because I joined a few days late in January from your cut off date and that there were over 300, 000 views in a very short time for my long running 'Luscious Ladyboy and Shemale Leggy Lookers' thread, I think I deserve some sort of shout out for trying to transfer the contents of that post in the old forum one by one to the new forum..I got 1/3 of the way through, before the size of the photos was dropped considerably......Please help.....I really want to finish the job of transferring all of the great images in my thread....

I like to post a lot of pics, which helps to generate traffic and makes this forum the best website on the internet, but right now there's not enough incentive for me to continue doing so. This board would be perfect if uploading was the same as the old boards.

Hmmm good question. To me it's like putting posters on the wall. They make threads look nice. I also like to show off what's in my collection, and share it, to make sure everybody sees how awesome a certain pic is.

George Clooney, I agree, the new figure of 293.0 kb. is still not sufficent for posting large images. You have to manually make each image smaller and that is a very difficult and time consuming proposition for those of us who really like posting pretty pics for the members of this forum.

Please revert to the old Attachnent Manager specifications. Those figures had to be at least 200 kb more than at present...If changed the new board would be perfect...

Actually HA isn't a porn forum. If this was a strictly porn forum it would be pretty dumb to provide online storage of the very images the advertisers are attempting to sell on their sites.

I'd be surprised if anyone is shelling out $30-40 bucks a month for the pics,
It's really about the videos I believe. If the pictures are representative of the videos that can be found on the the paysite that the pictures originated from, then posting them here can actually be a good marketing tool as a preview to the videos. Just my opinion...I'm sure some sellers may disagree.

And Tepres is right. I'm paying FranksTgirlWorld $70 bucks every 3 months for life to see hot shemales stroking on HD video, Frank giving them his usual tug, and best of all the MONEY SHOT. The 50-100 or so pictures included that you can usually find on any free thumbpost gallery website anyway go without saying. I mean they're great, but hardly what people are shellin out 30, 40 bucks a month for. It's not like we're uploading full length videos here.

I think uploading pictures and bringing attention to a certain model actually entices people to want to buy the model's videos AND her services. I know it has for me.

Plus the cap is putting a limit on all kinds of pictures/wallpapers, not just pictures that the advertisers are trying to sell.

Because those hosts don't allow porn, and porn hosts don't allow long lasting hotlinking. The great thing about the HA boards is that HA attachments can only be viewable when logged in. Only HA members can see them and server bandwidth is conserved as a result. As for the so-called 300% Increase, what are you talking about? Nothing has been increased. Not on a net scale. Taking something away and then giving a little back isn't giving anyone anything. The old board did not have these limits. You did not see anyone complaining about this until now. And it's not a matter of dumping pics, it's about being able to post the pic you want, when you want, without getting some annoying error.

George Clooney, very well put, mate. You and I, among others who love to post full size images would really appreciate a return to the old boards 'full size'. That has been reduced a great deal on the new board and causes us to have to resize pics that we did not have too on the old board. That takes lots of time and effort.....
I can only speak for myself, but, I am sure others will understand that there is nothing for us to gain, except making members of HA happy by posting beautiful images. It is my pleasure to provide enjoyment to this great forum and I do not get anything from this, except HA members pleasure in seeing beautiful images...full size.:cool:

To me the issue that needs to be dealt with is not the size in kb,but rather the size dimensionally.A pic can be 300-400 kb and still be small enough to be viewed fully onscreen without scrolling.the dimensions of a pic is what should really be considered when posting.Overly large pics(some as wide as 2000+ pixels)can not be viewed on most monitors without having to scroll left-right.

The consideration should be that not everyone has a large screen,nor do we all keep them set at the highest resolution.the reason being that(in case you haven't noticed)there is a great deal of printed words here to be read.Setting resolution to the highest tends to render printed words very small and thus sometimes difficult to read
