Just reading all the "Gringo" version of words and terms made me puke.

I contacted the writer just to tell her that if she was a little serious about the article at least she could have the Spanish and Zapoteco names correctly.

My Spanish isn't good enough to pick up on those, though I agree it's not very professional, in fact, downright rude, not to check terms and spellings. No excuse there, that's a pro journo writing, it should be 100% correct.

However it was a good read and thanks to Arianna for posting it.

The American Indian tribes have always revered TG's. They often thought they were closer to the Great Spirit. I think all the girls who work in Indian casinos should be required to be TG's. Maybe they'd bring us some luck.

I agree. Its interesting to note this quote:

That's a doubel edge sword of sorts ... I mean yea its nice that the women of that culture are apparently cool with the idea of their men being intimate with a TS. But it also makes it seem as if a TS cannot have a man of their own. My perception though - I could be wrong*

no no no no im not... i was referring to the men in mexico that sleep w/ gay men ... that article classified muxes as transexuals OR men who have male bf the article lumped the 2 together ... so my point was that its retarded that ppl in that country look down on women that have sex b4 marriage but its ok for their husbands to have male bfs to fuck around w/ until they do... and i stand by my comment ... that is retarded
