Naughty America, one of the biggest sites in the industry has introduced new pricing at $7.95/month. I'm wondering if this isn't going to have a ripple effect. Kind of akin to Walmart pricing Blu-rays at 9.99 and Target responding with 8.99 pricing. It's one thing to have piddly ass companies low ball everyone, but it's another thing when the big boys undercut the entire market.

Not an accurate representation of the offer. It is only $7.95 a month if you purchase a year, which is actually a $96 purchase. My site offers a 6month pass for 59.99 and many sites offer lower monthly if you purchase a longer membership.

NA knows that they can increase their short term revenue through this kind of marketing, they are not drastically cutting their prices.

lol I was thinking that too Mandy. Just add the words rope and bondage and it would be a Mandy thread. ^_^

Plenty of dykes though... wink wink, nudge nudge.

Amy when am I going to see you in a scene with a female performer? I keep hearing you say how much you like women.

Maybe I can get you in for a 3 way sometime. What kind of girls do you like Amy?

Often cheap entrances to sites are more for a "trial membership" sort of thing, be very careful about the small print and see if they're automatically signing you up elsewhere or banging your credit card (not saying NAmerica do this but other companies do).

If porn gets cheaper you can bet the quality goes down. We look very carefully at budgets and projections for how we price our content, the best offers we have are at http://grooby.com/paybymail.html where a site is about $20 a month, I don't think many quality content producers can go much below that.

NA is only offering $7.95 if you purchase a year membership. Just clever marketing.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to misrepresent the 7.95 price. It is available only if a full yr is paid for. However, I wouldn't be too dismissive of this price point as an average. I've subscribed to sites for 24.95, 19.95, etc., where they drop the price point $5 per month if you continue your sub after a month. I've also done 49.95 for 3 months and various other configurations, like the 6 month sub you're talking about Mandy.

But an average of 7.95 for any length sub is pretty low. And for a very big, very popular site like NA it's super low. I'm just saying.

As a consumer, I like it. As a producer, I think it would give me heartburn.

I think it just indicates the NA looked at their joins, saw almost none were rebilling more than a few months, and figured "how else are we going to get that money out of them?".

Their affiliate program is $30 PPS or 60% revshare. If they get a PPS join on the $7.95, they locked in $65 gr0ss profit, rather than with the 1 and 3 day trials they are seriously behind (if they don't get any cross-sells) and even with the one month at $24.95 they start at a loss.
