Its up to the directors and production to nominate someone, AVN just take the name and place it. Its who you know and if you produce. I think Foxxy should of been nominated as well!

Where is our most outrageous scene award, or best gonzo performer? So many ways that performers on the other side of the aisle get recognized that we do not. I think there should be a best top award, best anal bottom award, best switch etc...
After all we have such a specialized niche, some guys only watch bottom girls and vice versa and who can say if Hazel or Jesse is a better performer when they do very different things?

Unlike some companies who submit every single DVD they've released, we only submit a selective few and I was disappointed not to see "Cowboys and Shemale Indians" there. It's fairly easy to see who we nominated ... just look to see who was in "Hazel Does Hollywood" and "Transexdomination".

However, I have a zero rate of my nominated models winning since this award started :-)

I'm guessing this was aimed at me and Kelly, not sure why you feel you know enough about me to say I need to grow up. I expressed my opinion, and as far as bitchy tranny comments go it was pretty mild. I don't really give a shit about AVN and who gets nominated one way or another, just was shocked that some performers were not nominated and some were. I was probably in a feisty mood when I wrote what I wrote and I didn't mean it to come across as an attack on anyone, sorry if I ruffled any ones feathers.

On a personal note, I do not and never will expect any sort of recognition from AVN for my work, because I generally just do what I want to do and more and more that involves less comercially viable and more creative endeavors. I will never be mainstream, never want to be mainstream, thus never expect mainstream recognition.

That said I think very highly of many of the performers who were nominated and I wish them all the best, in Vegas and in general. I can't say as I'm really rooting for anyone in particular as I know, have had sex with, or am friends with enough of the girls who were nominated that it is impossible to root for any girl individually.

That is one thing the girls should really do, is command your worth once you get established.

I think there should be a peer based award system where all talent can be recognized. This way, we would have seen great talents such as Danielle Foxxx, TS Foxxy and of course Yasmine Lee. As I am watching more and more girls putting themselves in a position to "own their own image," I believe it's time to start thinking about a more realistic award where everyone working hard in this industry is potentially considered for recognition.

Jasmine the significance of AVN recognizing transsexual performenrs, which is one of the 7 performer categories is monumental in adult industry terms and in breaking down barriers for ts erotica within the mainstream adult industry. As I have said on several occasions, this award was partly created by Joanna Jet who campaigned AVN tirelessly to finally recognize transsexuals as valid performers in the awards selection. While the AVN is far from perfect in their treatment of transsexual performenrs compared to the other performers-nonetheless, the award is still as valuable and is a HUGE step forward in the recognition of ts erotica and performers as part of the mainstream industry.. And, I believe there are more than three companies who put out transsexual releases in the market- in fact any producer or comapny can nominate for any category. The companies you mentioned are indeed great, but they are largely web based production and the AVN at the moment only considers DVD releases and performances on DVD as criteria for a nomination and award.

As far as a ts only awards, refference Grooby's creation of The Tranny Awards which does just that and lets the fans nominate with a panel of judges selecting the winners.
