It's true. I went there in '04, so I don't know if a lot has changed. I remember one time that my friends and I were waiting at a bus stop and two transwomen (obviously hookers) came up to us and asked what hotel we were staying in.

In my humble experience it's Pattaya (much more bang for your buck than Bangkok) Sin City on a filthy dirty stick! PS It has to be said I've found myself in some very compromising situations there though. In the cold light of day, things could well have taken a turn for the worst. (it's 6am, you been drinking for 12 hours and indulging in other things you perhaps should not have been) Strangely enough, at the time, it all makes perfect sense.
