Considering the United States military dominance, we are unique in history in NOT using it to take over foreign countries. Unlike previous foreign world powers our first thought, as a people, when we enter into a foreign conflict is how we are going to leave. The countries that we have military bases in could at any time tell us to leave, as was the case in the Philippines and we would. Also, in those countries where we are stationed we pump money and resources in rather than stealing them. The US government is not perfect, or even close to it, but I always find it funny that it is described as "imperialistic" when all facts and data point to that fact that it is the true antithesis of an imperialistic nation. Just a thought.

Sure, keep invading countries for no reason and being at war for seven years for no reason allowing innocent people to be killed including your own and ours (for some reason we feel the obligation to support you) for no reason while the kids in your country eat themselves into oblivion to be the fattest country in the world while not having any free health care to support them, so you have to take out a loan from your bank. Oh wait, you don't have a bank. You lost that in the recession, along with your house.

Oh well, I'll just continue to enjoy my air-conditioned house which has increased in value over the last two years and go to my hospital anytime I want in the event of a medical issue and not have to worry about taking out my wallet, except to show my health card which indicates my visit is pre-paid. After that, I'll have a few cold beers that actually have alcohol in them while I listen to the greatest band in the world, RUSH, that grew up in the same city as I. While doing this I will contemplate what dirt cheap cottage I may buy in Florida, maybe two, and eventually flip them for a profit.

Then maybe I'll take a gander at the odd topless girl walking down the street (as it's legal in our province) just before I head to the strip bar and see fully naked girls. After that I will reminisce about this past winter and how I only used my snowblower twice while the U.S. east coast got bombarded with snowstorm after snowstorm. Those winters are terrible. Are they still snowmobiling there right now?

After that, I'll head to Tim Horton's and grab a coffee and donut and say 'hi' to the local police officer and not worry about being beaten or tasered for no reason.

Come Monday holidays will be over and I'll be back to work making a higher wage for what I do than if I was living south of the border.

Canada does not suck. We in the U.S. appreciate our kind and peaceful neighbors to the north. They are hard working and enjoy pleasant conversation, usually over a beer. They don't threaten us with missiles. Some don't like us as a nation very much, but I think most are capable of separating the government from the people. I live just over the border in vermont and enjoy occasional excursions into the "Great White North". I wish the vocal minority of U.S. citizens who find it necessary to bash Canada ( i've yet to figure out why ) , would spend their time making our country better

Geddy Lee - the greatest bass player, winner of many accolades in many Bass Guitar magazines. I challenge anyone to play a complex bass line, play keyboards with his feet and sing at the same time and then switch to keyboards and playing bass with his feet while singing. I dare ya. Alex Lifeson - also a winner of many accolades in many guitar magazines, including best guitarist as voted by his peers in 2008, that's as a 55 year old. He's still getting better.
