From interviews I saw I think they basically stand for personal freedom. Which if you watch the show makes sense, it is conservative on fiscal issues (at least one of them is a registered republican) but very open to social issues. You really can never tell with those guys. They even started their own political movement: South Park Conservatives whose tag line is: "We hate republicans, but we really fucking hate Democrats". I know this is off topic I just thought it was interesting.

South Park tends to be very disrespectful towards transsexuals.

i love southpark ... its just light hearted fun ...they rip the shit out of everything nothing is singled out, jews, black, trannys, gay, fat, foods, animals, countries, religion so in that sense you cant say the program is offensive as it doesnt single out anything ..it hits it all :)

They're disrespectful to just about everybody.

I took a poly sci course in, 2003 iirc, where we talked a great deal about the "politics of south park"

The show is definitely of a conservative libertarian ideology for the most part, and seems to be fairly straight forward & rational when talking about issues of authority, submission, and oppression.

But for social issues, that show is a mess.

Good Lord, knocking South Park on social issues is just as inane as criticizing Married With Children on family values.

Why would anyone criticize the family values of Married with Children? They're the TV family I think of first whenever I think of wholesome family values.
