Personally, I have a giant crush on Ashley at present. She is totally hot and will make some young man a great girlfriend. But she is much to young and at an entirely different stage of life to me - so not marriage material. It's just a little crush.

And I am one of the cats who do not glorify the glamour girls here. In my personal life I have been with 'glamour' girls and 'normal, round' the way girls', with the glamour girls too much high maint and the normal girls too much baggage and mental disorders, as well as self esteem issues. So unfortunetly, given the choice, most guys will choose the glamour girls because it is eaier to deal the the high maintenance issue then the dysfunctional issues.

All females have maintenace issues, glamour or not. Just my personal experience has been they do not have the dysfunctional assocatied challenges that normal girls have. They may desire Chanel and Prada, but will settle for Target' if some other basic attention issues are satisfied. It also depends where you live. High maintenace in NYC is different than high maintenanace in Zanesville OH. Also competation plays a factor. Glamour girls in Chicago, LA, and NYC are plentiful and quite frankly, easy to pick up. Glamour girls in Des Moines IA, are in demand and require a lot more attention and motivation from the fellows. Which means you have to bring a higher "A game". My stroll in Chicago is completly different then how I stroll in a small town in PA or OH. Though the product line in Chicago is higher rated,, the effort require to acquire is much less. I hope this makes sense, as I am trying to explain a complicated economic model (supply and demand) in a porn forum while using woman in my analogies. Probably not the most productive attempt.

He was talking about groom material/potential which is somewhat different from the issue of appearances.

Money does play a role of some kind. I'm not saying someone has to be Bill Gates to have good potential as a groom- but if his finances are so in the toilet that people are repossessing his stuff, that's not a good sign. Why? Because a marriage isn't just two people who (in theory) love each other forming a partnership, but it blends their finances together... which would mean that if the groom's finances are in the toilet, the wife will have to worry about whether they try to put a lean on HER house that she already had, or whether or not her car will get repo'd. She could lose everything, not just her credit. The way our country deals with marriages makes them very different from two people who are an unwed couple. All of those ramifications should be kept in mind.

But that just factors into the bigger issue of stability. Its not a good thing if the groom or the bride is a mess (substance abuse/addiction problems for instance, not taking care of their health, etc.). If its meant to be then it wouldn't be a problem if a couple stays as an unwed LTR until they can get their shit together.
