First off, sex and gender are two separate things. While they may align pretty well with the majority of the population, this isn't always the case. Sometimes there are women who are born into XY bodies, and men who are born into XX bodies. I'm a bit behind on the reading and what not, so if you want specifics, there are many other people here much better qualified to go into details on this or that.

I'm not even going to go into intersexed (sometimes incorrectly referred to as hermaphrodites) right now, cause its a bit out of my depth, and I don't think it really applies to your concerns right now.

So, back to your question: pretty much every pic you are looking at is an individual who was born with XY chromosomes (biological male) but has transitioned (to a greater or lesser degree) to a female, primarily through hormones and surgical procedures.

Well firstly i'm a guy! Androgen insensitivity is an intersex condition. I've a friend (XY MTF) who is totaly feminine in appearance and mannerisms yet didnt start hormones until 21. She has a very mild form of this condition.

Just to clarify afaik people with AIS (androgen insensitivity syndrome) are not born with external genitalia i.e. penis and scrotum...but they are born with testes...which never descend into their normal anatomical position....ofc wid the degree of variation of the syndrome anything is possible. (AIS being the testosterone receptor deficiency that u talked about)

Actualy my friend (and her sister who has AIS too) both have external genitals. I think its just more commonly diagnosed in those that are underdeveloped or have none.

Male. They only found out because neither of them were going through male puberty despite normal hormone levels, so they were sent for dna tests. I think these sorts of cases usualy go undetected.
