A fellow college footballer eh? Well Im an OU fan and the way yall laid the smackdown on us last year in the Orange Bowl made me respect USC.

I feel like Football is like Boxing, you cant be the champ until you knock the champ out. Texas is a very strong challenger but you cant call them anything but the number 1 contender because USC is still the undisputed champs and that wont change until they go down.

MagicOne,
Yeah, that Orange bowl was something else. Don't worry b/c you know stoops will OU back on top once he gets more recruits.

TsnTX,
I hope we don't get hooked should we meet in the championship. That QB yall got might give us problems.

There is no reason to hate Texas, except out of jealousy. The Horns do suck, though. What kinda team has butterscotch as their color. tsntx, what part are you in, I'm, in Houston.

Though their defense is reeling via graduation attrition and injuries, the Trojans would trounce the Longhorns in a showdown; Way too many weapons for Texas, or any college team to contain.

Addendum:

I have met some great people from the state of Texas, so knock the Longhorns and their sleazy politicians(Bush, Delay, et all), but stay away from criticizing the common folk. Most have been cool in my experiences. :)

Hey, what do I get for 800 posts ?

I know it hasn't been our year, but when you start drawing 100,000+ fans a year to your stadium and when Texas & USC start playing teams that don't suck....YOU CAN COME TALK TO THE SEC

The SEC---We're not fucking around

Alabama-- 12 National Championships, 21 SEC Championships, (Most Bowl Wins of All-Time--29 & 52 Bowl Appearences)
Auburn-- 2004 Undefeated Season, 6 SEC Championships (17 Bowl Wins & 31 Bowl Appearances)
Florida-- 1996 National Champions, 6 SEC Championships (14 Bowl Wins & 32 Bowl Appearances)
LSU-- 2003 Undefeated BCS & National Champions, 9 SEC Championships (17 Bowl Wins & 36 Bowl Appearances)
Tennessee-- 1998 Undefeated BCS & National Champions. 13 SEC Championships (24 Bowl Wins & 45 Bowl Appearances)
Georgia-- 11 SEC Championships (22 Bowl Wins & 40 Bowl Appearances)

USC didn't deserve it anyway after that BS against ND. Go Irish I'm in Austin so I guess I should be happy about UT, but #1, #2 doesn't really matter since those two will be deciding it at the end anyway.

^^That was an amazing game though.

Because of the lousy BCS, Texas should worry if teams like Va.Tech, Georgia, or Bama remain undefeated. Only b/c Texas remaining opponents are unranked, while the others still have to play top 25 teams. They can be knocked out.

Texas will beat USC based on the simple premise that DEFENSE wins championships.

While USC may have Bush, Leinart, White and others, the Horns have a defense that makes Notre Dame look like a high school squad. Texas has the athletes to match up one-on-one with USC , no one else on USC's schedule does.

Texas also has the X-Factor, Mr. Young.

A big reason why Notre Dame did well against SC is because they have been playing each other every year since 1929. Its a rivalry game. They know SC very well. Texas hasn't seen anything like SC (specially when the strongest teams they have played are Ohio State and Texas Tech!). They could be dumbfounded just like their rival Oklahoma was last year.

And there is no bigger "X-factor" than Reggie Bush

That's the same thing Oklahoma said.

They were begging for mercy by halftime.
