Star Trek. Star Wars is mince. I mean the very first one they put out in whatever, 77, was good but the rest is baloney and these recent CGI bundles of crap......Somebody needs to remind Georgie boy that plot matters. You know if a writer can't get something published for over TWENTY YEARS and then has to do it himself you have to wonder. Really. Trek has managed to re-invent itself several times without losing the feel of the original, and that's big praise for the writers directors and actors.

The first Star Wars was good, I think because I was 12 when I saw it....The last one was good becuase it wasnt as kid oriented as the rest....But Star Trek is for grown ups....

Serenity.

Star Trek over Star Wars. Original and TNG way over the last three ST series (progressively downhill after TNG; I can never choose between the original and TNG because both had their strengths). That said, the first SW movie is a total classic space opera. ESB was also excellent. RJ was the harbinger of the last three which were largely drek (some good stuff in the very last one, but not enough). I did like the fight with the Emperor in RJ, and the first time around the Ewoks beating the Imperial Stormtroopers with logs and rocks was a riot, but really a much weaker movie than the first two.

Some of my favorite SF movies: 2001, 5th Element, Day the Earth Stood Still, Metropolis, Forbidden Planet, Matrix (but NOT the sequels), Dune (for all its flaws). Other great SF TV shows: Dr Who, The Prisoner, Babylon 5, Firefly, Farscape, Twilight Zone.

LMAO. The image that creates kills me. It would definitely make for a good Saturday Night Live skit.

I gotta go star wars. It may be because I saw it first as a kid and they are more kid friendly. Plus it is alot more action oriented. You had huge spaceships, dogfights, lightsaber battles all together with people getting their hands cut off! How can you top that?

Star Trek was for "grown ups" at the time. I liked Spock and I think ST:TNG was by far their best. It has all been down hill since then in my opinion.
