I am an EMT. I've been to many fatal accidents. I've never heard anything remotely similar to this. I guess it's slightly possible that if he didnt hit any major organs that he'd live for a little bit.. but no "friction from tires" is going to cauterize his wound.

Im trying to figure out the mechanism of injury from his wounds and all I can think of is the truck skidded over him but he's have to be already lying down.

I remember a story years ago where a guy in NYC was pinned by a subway train. He was talking the whole time. Once the lifted the train away from him, he bled right out and died. The pressure of the train kept his blood loss to a minimum and what was left at his vital organs.

Actually he was bleeding out pretty fast (or made to look like he was if it was a fake). Blood does not show well on pavement and the human body only contains 3 to 6 quarts of blood depending on their body size. It takes quite a bit of blood to make that big of a bright red stain on pavement... that is if the video is real.

He didn't look to be a big guy, so I wouldn't be surprised if he only had about 3-4 qts of blood in total- which if true would make the amount of blood loss to be close to what I'd expect.

The shock + bloodloss + adrenaline would have allowed him to stay as calm as he was, perhaps even more so if he was trying to come to terms with dying.

The man identified in the pic is named Peng Shulin. I'm not and expert, but Peng Shulin does not sound like a Vietnamese name. Yes, he could be ethnic Chinese, but none of the descriptions of his ordeal mention that he is Vietnamese.

In addition to not mentioning his nationality, none of the links mention that he was injured when he was a policeman.
