As a kid I really wanted a battery powered BigFoot truck. You know the kind that little kids can ride in and go about 2mph. My parents promised me one but unfortunately they were poor as shit and never made good on that promise. It wouldn't do me much good now anyway. If I tried to sit my fat ass in it I would most likely break the damn thing. Plus I have a real SUV now.

A pair of pro-keds sneakers. All my friends had 'em....I always wore the nameless brands that came out the discount store bins.I would've killed for a pair of those. When I finally became a little older and made my own money...I found and bought a pair just on general principle. I didn't care that they were way out of style by then...anyway, it didn't matter cause those sneakers didn't last very long cause they're made like shit (of course).

as a kid i always wanted a 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300SL. I don't have one yet but I'm saving up for the day i find one for sale in good condition.

A chauffeur-driven limousine. I bought my first one (A '68 Fleetwood 75 Formal) when I was seventeen and paid the chauffeur a whopping $4 an hour (Minimum wage was something like $0.75 then...Yes, I am =that= old).

I paid cash for my first couple, but did use plastic for at least one of the later ones.

Hmm...Does seventeen count as 'adult' for the sake of this survey?

actually i dont think the computer thing is lame. a lot of my friends had them and we had a typewriter then a freaking word processor. we didnt get a computer until i was in HS

As a teenager growing up in the early-mid 80's in Southern California, my strict parents wouldn't let me buy old muscle cars even though I had the money and a license.
I begged them to let me buy either a 1969 Camaro Z-28, a 1971 Hurst Olds Cutlass or a 1983 Hurst Olds Cutlass. My words fell on deaf ears.

Well since I'm older now, I've owned them all and paid with credit cards.
