The only official words I have found about this are...

"The Ballad of Gay Tony injects Liberty City with an overdose of guns, glitz, and grime. As Luis Lopez, part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (aka "Gay Tony"), players will struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and with the uncertainty about who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price."

This is going to be interesting.

It has been pointed out that on Xboxlive the word gay or anything that could be a reference to homosexuality in general is censored. So how are they going to sell the ballad of gay tony. I suspects that someone at Rockstar thought about that in advance, just to pour some salt in Microsoft's eye.

If downloaded then you must have a copy of GTA 4 to play it , not so w/ the retail disc as it's ... well on it's own disc. :)

I suppose since the economy tanked, enough people won't have the broad band it will take to make downloading reasonable.

In GTA IV on the internet in the game at lovemeet.com there was a profile of a transsexual woman. I'll bet she'll be in this one. I can't wait to see this.

That's exactly what i thought when I first saw that picture. Even then "gay" as in queen/transsexual (to rockstar they would be the same thing i'm sure) or "gay" as in a lesbain woman. You have to admit a classy cartoon of a attractive transwoman could look like that though... look at the shoulders.

(http://www.gta4.net/ballad-of-gay-tony/characters.php) It appears that the woman in the picture is not how gay tony ends up. Though I think it would be cool to have a game with a major charcter who was trans. If you play the missions in GTAIV and TLAD where Tony shows up he is clearly not just merry and gay...he is a homosexual.

I have lost and the damn and its really awesome but most likely all the dlc that comes out will eventually come in one package at a most cheaper price then buying then seperately kind of like fallout 3 dlc.

The retardness of the people on that show makes me angry. I used to make fun of the show with my sister's partner while my sister watched, we used to decry it as the poorest possible representation of her gender and her sexuality.

And that game would be horrible, it would be like an old style point and click adventure game, however it wouldn't be a smart or funnily written Tim Schafer one, more of a shite pile of shiteness with no pacing, convoluted plot and horrible logic behind the way the item progressions worked.

On thread topic though, I've never played GTA 4 or any of the current sandbox games except for a bit of GTA: SA. What I know of them though is the undercurrent of parody and satire that runs through the plots, so perhaps there'll be a cool flip on establishment. Having the gay guy becoming the GTA protagonist, running around being an amoral sociopath will be seen in a more sophisticated way such as an allegory for the subculture to strike back at the perceived straight hegemony. That said, I'm one of those 'games are art' fags so perhaps I'm reading into it way way way too much.

Technically ... You can adjust their walk and voice , so a female can sound like Barry White and so forth. So not really transgendered per se ... but it is funny to have a big thug male character talk and walk like girl.

@tsntx: I highly recommend the motorcycle one... "lost and the dammed". The motorcycles are easier to ride, and unlike wussy Bellic they never wear helmets, and they get to use a sawed off double barreled shotgun on the bike. I never regretted the purchase.

For the room. There is no reason to assume that Luis the main character of the game will not be gay. I guess it's rockstar and they would have to make a gay character all obvious and well stereotypically poofy. But in GAT IV they went out of their way to be sensitive, for them.

I'll bet $20 that Luis, the body guard and main character of the game will be gay but butch, and $10 that there will be at least one transsexual in the game. It's time, and I could not think of a better game for it than GTA.
