Dept. of Bizzarre and Strange Litigation: Alleged Transgendered Model Maximilia Cordero Sues the New York Post for “Falsely” Claiming “She” was a “He”
Julie Andrews once starred in a comedy “about a woman, pretending to be a man, pretending to be a woman”.
Now an alleged transgendered aspiring model—who sued New York financier Jeffery Epstein claiming he sexually abused her when she was underage—has apparently taken a page from Andrews’ movie character’s playbook.
Here is the short version of this bizarre and convoluted story:
Essentially, creepy lawyer (bald, fat, almost 60, inset, above) sues gazillionare financier Jeffery Epstein claiming (his now girlfriend) then under-age aspiring model (lawyer also owns modeling agency) was “coerced” into depraved sex by financier. Lawyer gleefully poses with hot aspiring model on his lap. Then, in the ultimate in poetic justice, it is revealed in the New York Post, and reported in Above The Law that the hot aspiring model is, well, a guy. (See here.) Lawyer backpedals, tries to joke his way out, then denies model is his girlfriend after all.
But is she really (a guy)?
Maximilia Codero’s new suit against the New York Post claims she was “born a woman” and alleges that the Post coverage to the contrary was libelous malicious and false. But not so fast.
As Radar Magazine pointed out on October 24, 2007, Cordero’s amended complaint filed in the sex abuse suit against Epstein strongly implies—if not states—that Maximilia is transgendered:
“Cordero's attorney and former boyfriend William Unroch might want to start inspecting briefs a bit closer, too. He told Radar this week that his client was never a man but now claims in the suit that Epstein acknowledged her extreme makeover.”
The Radar Magazine article also shares this quote from Cordero’s amended complaint against the financier:
"[While trying to calm Cordero down] defendant Epstein replied, 'You know we're friends. You should not feel bad. Victoria's Secret is that a lot of the models are transgender. Why do you think they are so tall? Most runway models are, that's why the height and body requirements are so rare.' He again promised plaintiff work with Victoria's Secret if she returned. She refused."
It certainly sounds inconsistent. If, as Codero alleges in the amended complaint, she and Epstein engaged in all manner of (explicitly described) depraved sex, why—by Codero’s own admission—would Epstein be under the impression that she Cordero was “transgendered”?
It would not be the first time that Maximilia Codero’s lawyer (who first claimed to be, then denied being, Cordero’s “boyfriend”) has made inconsistent allegations in court on Codero’s behalf.
As Blogonaut pointed out here, Deal Breaker has reported that said hot model, previously tried to sue another older rich guy for the same thing (taking advantage when she was "under 17"). Except in that case, the court read Cordero’s own allegations about her date of birth, did the math, figured out “underage” model was 19, and dismissed the case.
And then there is the fact that when contacted by the press with the allegation that Cordero was a man, her attorney William Unroch did not deny it—he simply joked “maybe we are both space aliens”.
The bottom line: Maximilia Codero, who is represented by a lawyer who may or not be her “boyfriend”, may or may not be “transgendered”, and may or may not have had sex (depraved, consensual, or otherwise) with Financier Jeffery Epstein when she may or may not have been underage.
We are so glad we were able to clear that up!
