The brick phone in that ad is still slim compared to the original briefcase phone..

I don't own an iPhone, but I do really enjoy the iTouch. I'm not so much into the apps thing...but being able to carry a web browser and my music collection around in my purse is awesome. If I'm stuck in a line or waiting for a late friend to show up at the bus station, I can call up any one of the world's newpapers to occupy the time.

Oops! I think it was the comment about the apps that misdirected my focus. That and I was being my usual jerky self and not listening (reading) the entire conversation. In the words of Gilda Radner "Nevermind".

So does the self recharging system really work? It would be so cool not to have to worry about power all the time.

lol, my dad actually had one of those lug-around units in the mid 90s, no idea what brand it was but I was impressed by the glove-soft leather case it was built into.

It was so big that it would actually dub as a center console in cars with bucket seats.

Did read the review on the protype, it looks very promising.

It's enviormentally friendly, no more having to chuck unsafe, non
charging batteries into landfills. And no more worrying about your
phone going dead becuse it's run out of power.

Sucking radio waves out of the enviorment, and turning them into
voltage is genius.

Tesla would be proud.

Why does the first phone here have a color screen? Brick phones didn't have that, did they??

And it doubles as a anti-mugging device, or simply 'heavy bludgeoning weapon'.
