A Frisco man has been arrested on charges of aggravated assault and intentionally infecting numerous women with HIV.

CBS 11 News has also learned that there may be more than 20 women infected.
Friday, Addison police arrested Philippe Padieu on four charges of First Degree Aggravated Assault. That's one charge for each woman involved in the case. A source reports that all four women are HIV positive.

Padieu, who is a martial arts instructor at EC Athletics in Plano, allegedly met his victims at a nightclub in Addison. He is being charged with engaging in unprotected sexual intercourse.

Police allege the 51-year-old knew he was HIV positive and knowingly, 'caused serious bodily injury by creating a substantial risk of death by the exchange of bodily fluids'.

According to authorities Padieu has known he was HIV-positive since the fall of 2005.

Padieu is being held in the Collin County Jail on $50,000 bonds for each of the four charges.

Now police say their main concern is finding out if there are other victims.

Anyone who has had sexual contact with Padieu is being advised to seek medical attention and contact local law enforcement.

Beginning Wednesday morning, Dallas County Health and Human Services will offer free, confidential HIV testing for anyone who believes they may have come in contact with Padieu.

The office is located at 2377 Stemmons Freeway in Dallas. You can also call them at 214-819-2100.

Man Accused of Spreading HIV Faces Victims
100 years in prison for father convicted of poisoning his children

Ex-Lover Calls HIV Man a Real Swinger

updated 2:49 p.m. PT, Fri., May 29, 2009

McKINNEY, Texas - A jury sentenced a suburban Dallas man to 45 years in prison Friday for knowingly infecting six women with the AIDS virus.

Philippe Padieu, described by his own lawyer as a "modern-day Casanova," shook his head and looked down when the decision was read. Jurors sentenced him to 45 years on five counts and 25 years on the sixth, to be served concurrently. Padieu had faced up to 99 years.

The Collin County jury convicted 53-year-old Padieu (pah-DOO') on Wednesday on six counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Since HIV is the virus that causes AIDS, prosecutors contended Padieu's bodily fluids were a deadly weapon.
Padieu is a former martial arts instructor who continued to have unprotected sex after he tested positive for HIV in 2005.

Assistant District Attorney Lisa King in Collin County told jurors earlier Friday that Padieu deserved a life sentence.

But defense attorney Bennie House said Padieu may have made mistakes as a "modern-day Casanova," but did not intentionally spread the virus. He said a 20-year sentence would be fair.

Jurors heard testimony was Thursday in the punishment phase, including from women who described the harm that the HIV diagnosis had done them.

Padieu himself also took the stand, saying he was a victim of overzealous prosecutors. He said the women who accused him had all had multiple partners.

Chop his knob off.

Though to an extent I do agree with Nowhere, it's the responsibilty of all parties to initiate safe-sex, not just one of them.

In my opinion{here we go} they should prosecute guys who father children and dont take care of them.
That is KILLING the black community.
If they go afer these guys and put some in jail or fix them so they dont spread their filthy uneducated seed around THEN I will agree with something like this.

I know you all are gonna feel a certain type of way but oh well channel.

it sets a bad precedence ( for legal prosecution)

meaning they could prosecute someone for giving someone any STD/VD

someone giving you any std is assaulting you

Its really nothing new... and frankly, knowingly giving someone else an STD is assault, and in the case of aids- a uniquely dangerous one.

IMHO if someone, as an example, knows they have HIV and rapes someone, they should be charged with attempted murder with a sentencing extender (meaning if the victim later dies from an aids-related disease the sentence goes up) instead of throwing them in for a nickle for just the act of penetration.
