I hate to be a the Health andd Safety police, but you really should not be wearing headphones when running outside it really cuts down your awareness of your surroundings.

I did a race recently and they disqualified all those that ran with headphones because of safety, they were warned before the start

Very true and also if I was wearing headphones I would have to virtually stop at every junction or crossing to be doubly sure it was safe to cross.Even when I run at 4AM I still encounter traffic and bikes. So you are probably not getting a full benefit from the run.

I almost always listen to trance, same steady beat for 45 minutes keeps my rhythm consistent and my mind off the boredom of running in circle :P

First disqualified if you run with headphones or ipod?

Damn welcome to the nanny state. LOL Dont worry were going that way also.

As for what I listen too its usually

Trance mixes like from Crystal Method RUN for Nike or my friend David Leeson who is a DJ out of Los Angeles

Power pop stuff like Theory of a Deadman, Seether, etc

Or I listen to talk radio.

5k out 5k back and I suck as a runner

Cheers
