That's not the point.
I was joking about licking currency, but the truth is there are trace amounts of drugs all over the place- people interact with trace amounts of contraband on a daily basis and never know it, because its too insignificant to do anything.
There was an article on AP last week talking about how much trace coke can be found in the air in some cities.

People with extreme cases of anorexia, to the point of having to be institutionalized- do sometimes try to substitute paper or cotton for food.
Some people literally starve themselves to death because of easting disorders.
