Is anybody using this ? I mean besides people updating me with what they had for lunch is there any other benefits to using twitter. Isn't similiar to just text messaging your friends ? Anyone using twitter like it and why ?

I am "tswendywilliams" on it and its been a great way to meet alot of mainstream pornstars and chat. Because of twitter I have become chatty with Jessica Drake, Nikki Benz and countless female stars. Plus Ive been able to book a few personal gigs AND get my site listed on some cool blogs.............

It does get kinda boring sometime but I use it mainly when Im on my iphone, driving or just relaxing at the hotel.

Networking it has been great for me!

Simple tweet..... Complex as hell to link, find people etc. Really poor standards with those @ and # symbols. Just unintuitive in that respect

twitter is better for spreading news and engaging with people. facebook is more imho for communities. there are no groups on twitter. but if you want to share information quickly, twitter is it.

Twitter is what you make it. Want the news? Follow only news agencies. Like comedy? There's plenty on there.

I joined back in 2010 only because I had set up an account for my ex (we've since blocked each other). I used to tweet a LOT of porn, but I've expanded my palate greatly. LOTS of politics are posted by me now, but I still dabble in the porn a bit (TS prob included). Just a note though: I ride in the left lane; slower traffic can keep right.

Twitter is FAR from a waste of time. Ask those folks in Houston right now.
