Ok, I have used the search function and haven't really come up with a good thread on this. I have been a lurker on here for quite a while, just never decided to post.

I'm married to a TS girl and we are trying to get her ready for the surgery. She wants it, I'm excited for her to have it, but by no means have I tried to pressure her into it.

My questions are for you guys & girls out there, in your experience, who does the best job? This means, who does the best job aesthetically & physically?

I have a decent sized cock (7.5" long x 6.5" circ) so I want her to be deep enough & flexible enough to have me. However, some of the post-op pics on here are rather scary looking, so I want it to look nice too.

Who would you recommend? Where is their clinic located? How long of a procedure & recovery are we looking at? Lastly, what would be the estimated total cost for this procedure.

I'm searching around the internet, unfortunately I'm ending up in places that hardly have anything to do with legitimate doctors.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Wooo.

Look, in all honesty, you are really asking this in the wrong place. There are better resources, like www.tsroadmap.com for example. I am sure one of the girls has more links, I have some I can dig out.

Having said that, DR Suporn in Thailand (Google it, much info and prices) is doing remarkable work, and if you look in the Post-Op girls thread, you'll see the lovely Danielle Foxxx's exquisite little duff, which is his work.

Hopefully some of the girls who are walking this road will have more info for you.
Good Luck

You're exactly right. A word of caution, this board isn't too bad for this- but on some support sites (especially the ones dominated by middle aged transitioners) it seems a lot of the girls elevate their surgeons to the status of gods and will turn any thread asking "who is the best" or "who to stay away from" into a major flame fest.

We really do need a sticky on HA that points out this isn't a support site, perhaps listing a bunch of relevant sites, forums, and yahoo groups to go to for help.

This is the first yahoo group that comes to my mind,
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Trans-surgery/

But, it's not SRS specific. IDK of a SRS-specific forum/yahoo group to turn to.

Do be careful out there. My ex- ended up with some nerve damage from a surgeon that was highly recommended on a number of sites. It was only afterward that we were able to find the criticism that had been suppressed. Sarah is right on the money about how many folks deify the surgeons, often more for the hope they represent than a critical evaluation of the results.

This is surgery, there will be poor outcomes, if you can't find any, I'd be suspicious.

Approach a bit like a used car sale. Both the claims of the surgeons and the owners of their work should be taken with a grain of salt, as both are emotionally invested in showing the best side of the results. It's not as hopeful and approach... but will always wish I had been more aggressive in my own research.

I understand why my ex- couldn't be, she needed to believe in the person who would do this to her, so it should have fallen to me, with far less in the fire, to be the hard nosed critic and find only the surgeon who could prove their track record. It sounds like your in a similar position, so let her be the optomist, the believer... you be the hard ass.

It's not really happiness as one can put into words, but a true feeling of belonging. That was the most pleasant part of the surgery, which I can really call re-birth.

My experience was that of the soul. I am extremely spiritual and I could not have gravitated to something better then Thailand and her people. I was loved not just cared for. I thank the results not only to "god" for sending me Dr. Suporn or even the gift given to him, but I am thankful for giving him a heart and devotion.

His staff beginning with Sophie the house mother and director of education and schedule assistant. With immaculate precision and most personal lessons about female anatomy.

His nurses are like the sisters of the house, floating around like small butterflies attending to your every need during a difficult transition.

His house keeper and Nanny has such a light and her smile is so sincere.

Dr. Suporn is the way to go, no question about it.

Some people have had nerve damage. It is extremely unfortunate but it is the nature of the surgery. There are risks, everyone's bodies react to the surgery differently. Some of the patients have a really difficult recovery, others like me have done amazing but that's just because I was HAPPY when I went in. I knew what I needed for true happiness, and I trusted my path would lead me there when I was ready.

Anyone with doubts should not take this step. If you start to doubt yourself you seriously will have something coming. It should be the decision of the soul and not the conscience.

con⋅science
*The complex of ethical and moral principles that controls or inhibits the actions or thoughts of an individual.

So if ethics, morality and principles inhibits our actions then how can we allow the soul to decide? That is what being emotionally aware is.

Knowing who you are meant to be is more magical then anything in the world and for years I always questioned myself. Until after the surgery. I seriously think I emerged as a totally fulfilled light ready to learn my lessons, without the agony of being in the body of a boy.

You can see it as the metamorphosis of the butterfly - http://www.cincinnatiskeptics.org/blurbs/butterfly-metamorphosis.html

When she is ready she will know. Show her this post and ask her if she truly believes it's what she needs.

And lastly - commitment. Because it is extremely difficult to care for a vagina - ROFFL

Sounds like you place some blame on yourself, which you really should not if it is the case.

The decision to have surgery is the woman's not the man's, and no matter how much you agree or disagree it makes no difference. She would have done it with or without you.

I understand your care and concern but you should not beat yourself up, risks come with this type of surgery.

To be quite honest, I too have a few spots that are numb still. That's just because it in inevitable that some of the nerves be severed in the operation.

The doctor can and will try his best for this not to happen but here is where it is imperative that you chose one who cares.[/i]

There are many, many gifted surgeons, both foreign and domestic.

I myself am partial to the Thai surgeons as that is where I had my GRS.

Prices can vary from as low as 5K in Thailand to 30K in America. There
are a number of very competent Thai surgeons who average about 8K.

Dr. Suporn, who has been mentioned a few times throughout this thread
is about 17K when last I checked.

Recovery time will vary dependent upon the surgeons advice. But in most
cases a rule of thumb is about 6 - 8 weeks, though you will be encouraged
to be up and about as soon as possible, though admonished to refrain
from strenous activty.

As to aesthetic and functional concerns: Some surgeons perform a one
stage vaginoplasty. In this case a follow-up labiaplasty is often indicated.
This may be the case even when the surgeon does a two step procedure,
some women still may opt for a relatively inexpensive and pain free
labiaplasty.

In tems of functionality, any competent surgeon should be able to to
provide a woman with a neo-vagina that is orgasmic and that looks and
functions like it's natal counterpart.
