OMG... Super Excited :peanutbutter Im going to NYC, mid next month. Never been, and have heard soooo many things about it. Im really looking forward to it. Ill be there from, wednesday to sunday. Just wanted to see if any of you, had any suggestions on things to do?! I want to walk around, site see, shop, maybe hit a club or two, and hopefully go to one of the NYC parties that I see on here. :rock2

So if any of you, have suggestions on straight venues (clubs), bars, must sees, shopping, etc. Please let me know.

I remember the first and last time I went to NYC. :-)

If you go to one of the parties that are advertised here on HA they will know you and welcome you, and it's really cool to get to meet some of the people you have see online.

If you want to see as much of the tourist sights of the city as possible, as easily as possible, there are these double decker tour busses all over the place in times square. For something like $30 $40 you can spend the day, for I think like 3 days taking the various tours, and learning NYC history.

I did not get the see the statue of liberty. Wish I had.

Aww you're probably going to miss Fleet Week (18 May 2009 - 25 May 2009), but there are plenty of other things to do. Maybe some 5th Av window shopping, you'll probably want to check out the village, etc.. Maybe take a poke around Broadway, but it's sort of a tourist trap. It all really depends on what you want to get out of your vacation, as there is way more here then you could possibly see or do in a week.

If your planning on doing the "tourist" thing you should look into buying tickets online. They recommend that you make reservation if you want to visit the Statue of Liberty. The link below explains

Well, Celeste, you must check out the scene at Union Square around 14th Sreet and Broadway downtown. Just a lively spot full of people, vendors, music, and a true New York feeling. Not a touristy feel, but a local, colorful vibe. A great park, and if the weather is nice, especially on Saturday, it's great to have an ice cream and people watch. Or have a Harvest Wheat Beer with a slice of lemon at the outdoor cafe at the Heartland Brewery on Union Square West and 16th or 17th Street. Also, Union Square is close to Max Brenner, the Chocolate Man, a cool restaurant dedicated to chocolate (!) at 13th and Broadway. They sell big plastic syringes of liquid chocolate that you squirt into your mouth! That is diagonally across the street from the huge Strand Bookstore, which advertises "16 Miles of Books!" which seems accurate. And of course, Celeste, just by coming here you will beautify our fine city even more!

That was so long ago... but the first party I went to was on Thursday's, at club vapor...but that particular venue is closed down now if I understand correctly.

I am certain that any of Sunny D's parties will be fine. As a matter of fact I would swear that if you tell us which one, HA people from NYC will make an effort to be there.

Don't do what I did and get there really late :oops:
(I mean I did drive 7hrs, then get myself together to get there. 125 MPH, I tried.)

Fleet week is when a good chunk of the US Atlantic naval fleet docks in NYC. Tours of the ships, tons of Navy and Marine personnel checking out the city, various celebrations. It's a fairly popular event.

So Natassia reccomended that I go to Club Marquee last nite, so I did. OMG I had so much fun! It was packed. I noticed 3 really hot latina ts's from chicago there, so I went over to say hello. OMG.... I had sooo much fun last nite!!! Sunny is just as beautiful in person as in pictures. Susi and Faye are the sweetest girls ever! It was nice seeing yasmine again as always. There were so many pretty girls there last nite, and the guys were all so nice & welcoming. I had no idea what to expect going there last nite, and was quite nervous. But it was nothing like I expected, it was a awesome night :peanutbutter Miriam & Ashley are so nice & beautiful... it was such a pleasure meeting them.
