Afghanistan was a really great place until the USSR fucked it up royally. That's just how Afghani men carry on-- they're a riot...(till you piss them off....not a good idea....)

Seriously, I was in Afghanistan a number of times before the Soviet invasion and it was brilliant, except for the absolute absence of any visible women, outside Kabul anyway. But that's normal in Muslim states, as is the fact that they're dry; if you travel in those countries you get used to it. Still, Afghani men were party animals with a great, wicked sense of humour.

I get upset when I think of what has been done to a harmless little country that wasn't doing any harm to anyone, but just had the misfortune to be in a strategically significant location.
