the site originally ran on a points system based on how many people read your page (which usually came from your boldness in pictures you posted, or your web design skills, or both) and the end result was a gift from BlackPlanet of (and get this shit, LMAO) a BP mug, or usually a BP t-shirt

once several people with simple web design skills begin implementing music and animated gifs onto their page (90% of the time this was nothing more than going to another users page and copying their web text, lol) BP would change the html format and make all those people with wonderful pages start from scratch....................... thus leading to their initial failure
